The reason we use Hemlock in our saunas is that it is resistant to cracking warping and shrinkage. Plus, unlike Red Cedar it does not contain cedar oil which is a lung irritant and can affect some users).
One of the major benefits of an infra red sauna which you need to consider is the ease of maintenance. When saunas are all shiny and new in the showrooms the last thing you think about is how easy they are going to be to clean. The good news is that infra-red saunas are arguably the easiest of all the sauna types to keep clean. The secret is to fold a towel which you then sit on to absorb the sweat (you will sweat up to twice as much in and infra-red sauna compared with a traditional sauna).
The reason why you want to sweat more is that your body uses the action of sweating to flush out toxins from your body and unblock pores. It is widely accepted that infra-red saunas offer more health benefits than traditional saunas.
